Multi-day trips into the backcountry demand a pack that carries heavy loads without destroying your back and holds up through rough trails, bad weather, and weeks of constant use. OutThere USA backpacking packs are designed by our founder, three-time Adventure Racing World Champion Mike Kloser, and tested across thousands of miles of mountain, desert, and forest terrain before they ever reach a customer.

Choosing the Right Backpacking Pack
The 45L Ultralight Backpacking Pack is purpose-built for multi-day trips where every ounce counts. At 45 liters it swallows a shelter, sleeping system, stove, food, and layers for a three-to-five-day push without forcing you to strap gear to the outside. The suspended mesh back panel keeps airflow moving on long climbs, and the padded hipbelt transfers the majority of the load to your hips so your shoulders stay fresh mile after mile. Top-loading access with a roll-top closure keeps rain out and lets you compress the pack down tight on shorter overnights when you are carrying less.
For faster-paced backpacking and overnight missions where you want to cover serious ground, the WC-30 strips volume to 30 liters while keeping the load-carrying features that matter. The hipbelt still transfers weight effectively, side compression straps cinch the load close to your back on scrambles, and multiple external pockets give you fast access to a map, filter, or snack without digging through the main compartment. It is a favorite among ultralight backpackers who pair a tarp shelter with a quilt and want a pack that matches their stripped-down kit.
Both packs use high-tenacity nylon in high-wear areas and lighter fabrics everywhere else, keeping total pack weight low without sacrificing the durability you need when your pack gets dragged across granite, dropped on talus, or stuffed under a rock overhang for the night. These are backpacking packs that earn their place on the trail.
