Our Bottle Tails are designed to attach to all of our current MS-2, AS-3 and 45-L pack models. They are attached at the top with dual sided Velcro under the shoulder strap logo patches. The middle of the Bottle Tail has a secure Velcro strap and the bottom slips through the lower webbing/buckle on the shoulder straps.

 

Most any model of standard exercise bottle, including the new soft collapsible styles, will fit securely in the pocket. With the 4-way stretch mesh on the side panels of the pocket, it is also great for holding most of the larger phone models that won’t fit in other easily accessible pockets on the pack. The water bottle pocket has a secure Bungee drawstring at the top, and a mesh pocket on the outside. The outer edge of the holder has a sleeved Bungee cord to hold trekking poles for quick stowage/access. Lastly, there’s one more additional mesh pocket on the top, great for gels, lip balm, etc.

Great pack upgrade

Carrying short bike bottles on my chest is a lot more convenient than using the side pockets. I had a hard time reaching them there. The bottles don’t bounce and it’s comfortable. It took me a couple tries to get them installed just right. Instructions or images would help.

Well thought out

I've always carried a water bottle on my shoulder strap just using a loop of bungee. When I bought the AS3-30L, I included the bottle tails. What a game changer. The attention to detail is noticeable right from the first use:
-Pull loop to help remove the bottle from the pouch
-Side and top mesh pockets for snacks or tools
-Side access zip
-Pole, accessory loop - this is brilliant! it's so easy to quickly lash your trekking poles for easy stowing/access
My current set up is right side bottle holder for electrolyte drinks with a snack bar in the side pocket and Nuun tube in the top pocket;
Left side holds my GPS with pocket knife in side pocket and small flashlight in top pocket. Everything is just where I need it ... no thinking required!

great addition to adventure racing gear!

Tried these bottle tails out on our first 24 hour adventure race last weekend, and they were such a great addition. Seamless integration into the pack system, and easy to access during the race, without slowing down. We were able to have an electrolyte drink easily available as well as plain water in a camelback. And it was simple to move bottles out of the bottle tails onto the bike for the cycling sections. Great customer service, as well - would highly recommend!
