I'm an expedition medic and just used the 45L pack in the Icelandic Highlands for the first time.... First of all I think Mike is lying, I reckon I can fit way more than 45L in there!

The pockets are perfect, easy access to every bit of kit I need, be it water bottles, food, medical kit, all within easy reach at a moments notice.

An extremely comfortable and durable pack that I will be using for many years to come in every austere environment out there!

Spot-on for my overnight and weekend hammock adventures. There are many innovative, practical features such as the compression straps on the sides, that can also connect to each other on the back; hight adjustable hip-belt; plenty outside storage/utility pockets; water-bottle holders; helmet net (that I use for an extra pair of shoes), and many more.
The best feature for me personally was the kind support I received – with Mike Kloser phoning me and explaining all the features and helping me make an informed decision. Thanks Mike.
Pack bears weight with comfort and I have loaded it to North of 50 lbs (6L of water being part of the load).

I have done several outings with this pack, and it is a great pack. It rides really well and balanced. It is just the right size for a 4 to 5 day backpacking trip. I also have the 30L Out There Fiji Edition pack which is also a great pack, but can be a little small for longer stays in the wild.

OK I have used other OutThereUSA packs for years and have completed multiple adventure races and the Northern Traverse across England with the MS-2 and AS-3 packs. This 45L has a great fit, lots of pockets to stash stuff for quick access and lots of room. Great for winter expeditions when you need more stuff to stay warm. I particularly like the dual zippers to the main compartment to easily open and get gear instead of pulling everything out of the main compartment. Well designed, comfortable fit and tough. Looking forward to many years of exploring with this backpack!

The pack is really great, and as per Mike's advice I chose the 45L model because of the extra space needed to carry pack rafts in our upcoming adventure race. I've been training with it during the last month and can't say enough good things about it. Considering all of the exterior attachments, pockets and compartments it is quite light and for a race such as this the little extra weight of these features are well worth the ability to compartmentalize everything. The pack is very adjustable, you just need to take the time to find the fit that is right for you, Mike was a big help here and provided some excellent tips. The quality of the pack and the design of it are simply outstanding. There is a bit of a learning curve to the pack to be able to use it to its utmost potential and I know I haven't figured everything out yet but all in all I am exceptionally pleased with the pack so far and can't wait to try it out during the race.
